BREAKING: Ogun House Of Assembly Elects New Deputy Speaker
The Ogun State House of Assembly has elected new deputy speaker.
CityNews Nigeria reports that Hon. Balogun Akeem was on Tuesday elected as the new Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly.
Akeem who represents Ogun Waterside State Constituency replaced Oludare Kadiri (Ijebu-North II State Constituency).
The new Deputy Speaker was nominated by a member representing Remo North State Constituency, Solomon Osho and seconded by Abayomi Fasuwa, who represents Ijebu-North East constituency.
The nomination was unanimously endorsed by other lawmakers at a plenary presided over by the Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo, at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Before conducting the nomination exercise, the Clerk and Head of Legislative Service, Deji Adeyemo, presented a report on the vacancy in the office of the Deputy Speaker.
Recall that Kadiri, was last week Thursday impeached from office over accusation of gross misconduct.
