Breaking: Police Speaks About ‘Shooting Sowore In Abuja’
The Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress in the 2019 general elections, Omoyele Sowore, has confirmed that he was shot by a police operative in Abuja on Monday.
The Sahara Reporters publisher was shot during a protest to demand an end to insecurity in the country.
Sowore was shot in the right side of the stomach towards the hip by armed policemen drafted to the Unity Fountain.
It was disclosed that the police had been stationed at the fountain before the police open fire on Sowore and other protesters.
The politician cum activist has been rushed to hospital for medical treatment, Naija News understands.
The activist took to his Twitter account and wrote, “Just been shot by a police officer, ACP Atine at the Unity Fountain in Abuja. #RevolutionNow Let the struggle continue even if they take my life! #BuhariMustGo”
