Away from the boring, depressing stories about our freakingly dirty politics. I make bold the declaration that any kid raised on the steady flow of Nigerian political news shall never make it to retirement age. Those that shall beat the odds shall sincerely, and with no proper care end up brain dead! No kidding!

We must learn to frequently step out of that deep, dark, pervasive Nigerian gulag of madness. We need the constant exposure to sunlight. We damn need the rush of serotonin into our collective brain to keep our mood filtered and output sane. And Burna Boy is another one of our many citizens, distracting me for now from ever going ‘Postal’ on somebody too big, too influential, too corrupt and too deleterious in that huge Concentration Camp spreading across the land, from the South-South, Northeast, East-North, all the way unto Fiditi!

The boy is good! Blessed with a certain roughness and a voice that seemed seasoned in any one of our motor garages- like that beautiful one at Olúọ́dẹ. Imagine a fresher, cleaner, younger, buffed Orlando Owoh singing highlife in fake patois. That’s how good he is! I can even catch whiffs of heavenly Dooby on his breath in all his songs I’ve played. Again I said it: the boy is good!

Good enough that the dopey Kanye’s new track ‘Ye’ is rerouting enthusiastic streamers to one of Burna’s own shit! Brethren, that’s freaking good!

Now if you happens to be one of those still clueless and still scratching yà biabia on how and why that ‘green-white-green’ NIKE kits are flying off the racks, now you know one of the many Cats pushing it! Add globalization, the myth of Jollof Rice, the Wakanda phenomenon and our teeming youthful population to it. He is one of those many hands from afar rocking the new Nigerian cradle! Saraki and the rest are the Nigerian killers- these kids have given her a new lifeline! Where the former and his ilk are our national shame, the latter and his kind are our soaring pride!
