Coronavirus: Beyoncé Donates $500,000 To People Facing Eviction

Beyonce is doing her part to help struggling families affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

The Grammy-award singer, 39, has generously donated $500,000 to those facing eviction as part of her BeyGOOD foundation.

The mum-of-three is hoping to make a difference as countless people have either lost or at the brink of losing their homes due to lack of stability or income amid the global crisis.

The fund is set to be made up of $5,000 grants, which will be distributed to 100 recipients in late January.

Online application for the grants will become available from January 7, 2021, with a second round of applications will open in February.

In an official announcement, Beyoncé’s foundation penned: “Phase Two of the BeyGOOD Impact Fund will now help those impacted by the housing crisis/

“The housing moratorium is set to end on Dec. 26, resulting in mortgage foreclosures and rental evictions. Many families are impacted, due to the pandemic, [which has] resulted in job loss, sickness and overall economy downturn.”

The organisation added: “Beyoncé is giving $5,000 grants to individuals and families facing foreclosures or evictions. All necessary documentation must be provided to the NAACP.”

“[The] online application process opens Jan. 7, 2021 [and] 100 recipients will be selected. Grants [will be] disbursed in late January. Round two [of grant distribution] will [reopen] in February,” the statement added.
