COVID-19: ODU’ACCIMA Activates Business Continuity Plan, engages PERL-DFID in a virtual meeting* .

Odu’a Chambers of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture, the regional chamber of Commerce for the West Geo-Economic Zone, has activated its business Continuity plan, in view of the Coronavirus pandemic which has made most states and businesses to be on lockdown.

The ODU’ACCIMA Team, led by its President, Chief Kola Akosile recently had a virtual meeting with one of its Strategic Partner, PERL – Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn, in a bid to ensure that the pandemic doesn’t affect its activities, too drastically. PERL funded by DFID to strengthen strategic partneships for socio- economic development.

Speaking, the DG of ODU’ACCIMA, Mr David Awotipe explained that the chamber is strengthening it’s processes and structures with a view to enabling it deliver on its mandate, strengthen institutional gaps and providing solutions to its members.

Awotipe added that the Chamber will continue to utilize various online media platforms to engage its partners.

As a result of the virtual meeting held between the Chambers and DFID-PERL, the strategic relationship between the two organizations have been re-activated.

Participants at the online meeting were some Executives of the Chamber; Chief Kola Akosile – President; 2nd Deputy President – Dr Ojelabi; Regional Coordinator of NAWORG – Mrs Funmi Ade-Ojo; Regional Coordinator of NYE – Mr Segun Bolaji and the DG – Mr David Awotipe.

Memebers of DFID-PERL Team who participated in the meeting were; Samuel Abas – Private Sector Engagement Adviser; Sylvanus Nabena – National Technical Officer; Adewale Agbojo – Team Leader South West; Rasheed Adebesin – Reform Manager; Munachiso Odulana – Reform Facilitator; Olabisi Oghogho – Partnership Facilitator; and Josiah Aramide – Partnership Facilitator.

The virtual engagement is a continuous exercise and the next phase of the meeting will be announced through appropriate channels of the Chamber.
