Don’t Allow Unknown Gunmen Kill You – Uzodinma Tells Security Operatives

The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, on Tuesday disclosed that his administration would introduce an insurance policy for all the security operatives serving in the state.

The All Progressives Congress chieftain also advised police operatives to stop allowing gunmen to kill them during the attack on police facilities in the state.

Uzodinma made this call during his condolence visit to the state police command headquarters in Owerri, to sympathise with its leadership over the killing of policemen and burning of police formations in the state in the past few months by bandits.

He said, “Let me say it again, you are the only one licenced to carry guns in our country. Don’t allow yourself to be killed by idiots who do not have the authority of the law to carry guns. Stop allowing yourselves to be murdered in cold blood by them. Defend yourselves, the lives and property of peace-loving people of the state.”

The Imo State Governor further stated that the state government is putting a measure in place where all the family members of those who died during the unrest in the state would be compensated.

He promised that his administration would improve the security situation of the state, adding that the logistics of the required to police the state would be increased.

Uzodinma added that the families of the slain officers would not be abandon by his administration.

He also commended the state Commissioner of Police, About Yaro, for improving the security situation of the state in the past six weeks, and handed over six operational vehicles to the command.
