#EDODECIDES2020:What Okorocha Said About APC After Ize-Iyamu’s Defeat.
Okorocha has reacted to Ize-Iyamu’s Defeat to Obaseki at the just concluded Edo governorship election.
CityNews Nigeria reports that a former Imo State governor and founding member of the All Progressives Congress Rochas Okorocha has openly lambasted his party.
Okorocha who was visibly angry with the results of Edo gubernatorial election said all that is left of it is respect for the president.
Let us recall that the APC has been locked in crisis in recent times with the party’s former national chairman Adams Oshiomhole at the centre of it. The party’s litany of troubles culminated in the defeat at the Edo governorship polls on Saturday.#EdoDecides2020: Gutted Ize-Iyamu Reacts To His Defeat
Speaking with journalists in Abuja on Sunday ahead of his 58th birthday, the vocal senator said the loss suffered by the party was a “revolution of the masses against injustice”.
He said: “There is no more APC, what we have is the respect for President Muhammadu Buhari. That is what is keeping us together. What we have is our respect for the person of President Buhari and we still believe that something can be done.
“That trust and respect is what we still call APC, outside that, respect for President Buhari and the trust and belief that he could wake up one day and correct all these injustices and make it fine. That is the only thing that is keeping the APC, if not that, I don’t think there is anything like APC because people are beginning to get fed up. Again, PDP is not even better, the party has its own challenges.”
