#EndSARS: Campaign Turns Violent In Abuja As Police Open Fire On Unarmed Protesters [VIDEO]
The renewed calls for the scrapping of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the Nigeria Police have shaken the country and left it on the brink as youths in their thousands took to the street to demand an end to police brutality.
The protests have not been without hiccups and setbacks as altercations between police and protesters lead to violence and pandemonium.
At least two people were killed in Delta state after what started as calm agitation turned into a full-blown melee, while security operatives harassed and hounded protesters who kept vigil at the government house in Alausa, Lagos.
CityNews Nigeria reports that the situation turned worse on Tuesday as the EndSARS protest took off in Abuja. Protesters, who have converged to express their grievances, were brutalised.
