EPL: Why Chelsea, Leicester Players Fight During 2-1 defeat – Iheanacho Opens Up
Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho has provided a reason for the fight between his teammates and Chelsea players towards the end of their Premier League on Tuesday.
The Blues climbed above the Foxes in the table and into the Champions League driving seat after the 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge.
And one of the talking points of the encounter was in injury time when a fight broke out between the Blues stars and Leicester City players.
It all began when Antonio Rudiger reacted to Leicester City right-back Ricardo Pereira’s late challenge on Ben Chilwell.
Iheanacho explained that he was only trying to calm things down by acting as peacemaker as tempers boiled over.
Iheanacho told Sky Sports, “Antonio Rudiger went aggressively on Ricardo Pereira and that is what caused the fight. I was telling him to calm down.”
Both sides could be fined by the FA for failing to control their players.
Iheanacho came off the bench to score his 12th league goals and nineteen in all competitions.
