Father-of-two who evaded circumcision for 20 years is finally circumcised in front of his family

A 35-year-old man from Butali Village in Malava Constituency, Kakamega County, Kenya was on Monday circumcised after evading the knife for over 20 years.

The father-of-two, Douglas Olumwachi, was circumcised in front of his family.

The man’s father, Francis Olumwachi, said his son had devised ways of evading the knife since his teenage years.

“I am now glad my son can join the table of men,” said Francis.

Douglas, on the other hand, said he was “grateful to the community for organising my circumcision. I can now rest easy without fearing that they would come for me in subsequent initiation seasons”.
