FIFA Approve Maternity Leave For Female Football Players
FIFA has now approved maternity for all female football players.
Football governing body,FIFA approved a new measure on Friday that will change women’s football forever, with mothers now able to have their salary guaranteed for 14 weeks while also having medical support.
Until now, many female players had had to cut their careers short in order to tend to their children, but now they will have more support from FIFA.
“If we are serious about boosting the women’s game, we have to look at all these aspects,” FIFA president Gianni Infantino told reporters.
“Female players need to have stability in their careers and if they take maternity leave, they should not have to worry about when they are ready to play again.”
The rules will apply all over the world.
