Floyd Mayweather to pay for George Floyd’s funeral costs
Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather has offered to pay for the funeral of George Floyd.
TMZ reports that Mayweather Jr has offered to fund the cost of Floyd’s funeral.
He wants to foot the bill for four services taking place in Houston, Minnesota, Charlotte and another yet-to-be-determined location.
TMZ said Mayweather Jr’s closest people told them: “He is just doing what he feels is right in his heart.”
The news site also claims Floyd’s family have accepted his offer.
In the UK, Manchester United stars Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford sent powerful anti-racism messages to pay tribute to Floyd.
Pogba said: “I felt anger, pity, hatred, indignation, pain, sadness. Sadness for George and all black people who suffer racism every day.
“Whether in football, at work, at school, anywhere! This has to stop, once and for all. Not tomorrow or the next day, today!
“Violent racism can no longer be tolerated. I can’t tolerate. I won’t tolerate. We won’t tolerate. Racism is ignorance. Love is intelligence.”
Rashford aded: “I’ve been trying to process what is going on in the world.
“At a time I’ve been asking people to come together, work together and be united, we appear more divided than ever.
“People are hurting and need answers. Black lives matter. Black culture matters. Black communities matter. We matter.”
