Former Emir Sanusi Speaks About ‘How Buhari Creating IPOB’
Former Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II has denied media reports that President Muhammadu Buhari created the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
CityNews Nigeria recalls that recalls that a viral post on social media had quoted Sanusi as saying that the greatest achievement of President Buhari is that he created the IPOB which may consume the country.
The post added that an average Igbo youth is a member of the IPOB by spirit, and it will be difficult to make them believe in one Nigeria.
It reads: “President Muhammad Buhari’s greatest achievement is that he has created a monster (IPOB) that will soon consume Nigeria.
“An average Igbo youth is a member of IPOB by spirit, and it will be difficult to make them believe in one Nigeria, even when Buhari has left.
“Igbo youths don’t care about anything in Nigeria anymore, and even Igbo presidency doesn’t interest them anymore.
“My greatest fear is that Igbo youths are in every state in Nigeria, and if they decide to carry arms, Nigeria will be history.”
Speaking to TheCable on Friday, the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said he did not make any such statement anywhere.
The former monarch noted that the statement was not issued by him, nor by any official source linked to him.
“It’s been circulating for two weeks. I definitely did not make any such statement anywhere,” Sanusi said.
