Four Reportedly Shot Dead As Customs Clash With Smugglers In Oyo
Not less than four people have lost their lives in Iseyin, Oyo State during a clash between some Customs officers and smugglers.
The incident happened on Thursday afternoon when come residents of the community were still celebrating the Eld-Fitri festival.
Sources claimed that the four people lost their lives due to gunshots they sustained when customs officers were engaging the smugglers.
There are claims that customs officers started shooting after intercepting smuggled goods coming through the borders.
According to Daily Post, the bullets hit some of the residents who were on the ground to enjoy Eld-Fitri celebrations.
The incident saw four people reportedly died as a result of the gunshots they sustained.
The fifth person was seriously injured.
At the time of filing this report, the state police command and custom are yet to react to the incident.
