A faction of Boko Haram backed by the Islamic State (IS), the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), has released photographs of terrorists observing Eid-el-Fitr prayers at different locations in Nigeria territory.

The Eid-el-Fitr was celebrated by most Muslim faithful across the globe on May 13.

CityNews Nigeria reports that the insurgents formerly known as Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād were seen in photographs obtained by SaharaReporters in about four groups praying together in open fields.

Boko Haram terrorists have killed thousands and displaced millions in North-Eastern Nigeria.

The Nigerian military has repeatedly claimed that the insurgency had been largely defeated and frequently underplays any losses.

In the past months, the insurgents have targeted soldiers who lay ambush on their path.
