INSECURITY:What Shehu Sani Said About Akeredolu’s Quit Notice To Ondo Herdsmen

The former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Shehu Sani, has condemned the quit notice issued by Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, to Fulani herdsmen in the state.

Sani in his reaction to the directives of Governor Akeredolu described the decision of the Governor as wrong,CityNews Nigeria reports.

Recall that  that Akeredolu had ordered herdsmen in the state to vacate the forest reserves within a period of seven days counting from Monday, 18th January.

The Governor also banned night grazing as well as highway and under-age grazing in the state.

President Muhammadu Buhari, however, rejected the ultimatum asking herdsmen to leave Ondo forest reserves by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

Sani who took to his Facebook account to react wrote, “My Dear Governor Akeredolu, I’m quite aware of the security challenges facing your state. I appreciate your efforts, but it’s outrightly and completely wrong to ask all cattle herders to leave Ondo forests.”

“The sins of a criminal few should not affect the law-abiding and peaceful ones who have the right to live and move freely in all parts of our country.”

“Efforts must continue to be made to deal with those who breach the law, while and respecting and protecting the rights of the innocent.”
