JUST IN: Lagos State Breaks Silence Over Looted Covid-19 Palliatives

Lagos State Government has reacted to reports of looting of Covid-19 Palliatives in its warehouse.

The Chief Press Secretary to Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile has explained what the Covid-19 palliatives looted at a ware house today in Lagos was meant for.

Akosile was replying a twitter user who suggested that the act of ”locking up” palliatives for the masses is the reason why we are here and reason why there are protests. She then called it a bad Governance,CityNews Nigeria reports

Sighting what the twitter user — Joyce Karam wrote, Mr Gboyega replied telling her, her tweet is incorrect as the Governor has spent his PERSONAL and state resources to get food palliative for vulnerable Lagosians even before covid-19.

Joyce Karam had tweeted; ”Protestors in #Nigeria discovered today a warehouse of Covid19 food aid in Lagos that was meant for people but is locked by Gov. Worsening economic conditions, bad governance are main reasons behind #EndSars movement”

Mr Gboeyega immediately replied;

”This is falsehood. This is inciting. The Gov didn’t lock the food packs in. They’re in warehouse for distribution. Stop inciting Nigerians. Gov. @jidesanwoolu used his personal and State resources to get food palliative for vulnerable Lagosians even b4 Ca-COVID. Promote peace”.
