Dr Garibaldi and Dr Conley said the president will be able to return to the White House on Monday to finish his five-day course of remdesivir treatment if his condition continues to improve.

Following his refusal to confirm whether Mr Trump was given oxygen on Friday, Dr Conley said he was trying to “reflect the upbeat attitude” of the president and his medical team.

During the briefing on Sunday, Dr Conley was pressed on why his rosy picture of the president’s health was contradicted by White House chief of staff Mark Meadows on Saturday.
