Just In:Cross River lawmaker, Godwin Akwaji dies of suspected Coronavirus symptoms
A lawmaker in Cross River State, Godwin Akwaji, is dead.
The deceased represented Obudu constituency at the House of Assembly.
He passed on after showing symptoms of COVID-19.
Akwaji died Thursday afternoon at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) Isolation Centre.
He was said to be diabetic and exhibited fatigue, fever, cough and breathlessness.
Cross River has repeatedly claimed that the State is free of coronavirus.
