1. APC ‘Identifies’ North-West Governor As Responsible For Banditry And Kidnapping In Nigeria

Nigeria’s ruling political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has revealed that a North-West Governor is behind the cases of banditry and kidnappings rampant in the country.

The party made the allegation in a statement on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Yekini Nabena which it claimed is based on an intelligence report.

2. Katsina State Govt Confirms Release Of Kidnapped Kankara Schoolboys

The Katsina State government has confirmed that the kidnapped students from Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State have been released.

The development was confirmed on Thursday evening by the Secretary to the Katsina State Government, Mustapha Inuwa.

3. President Buhari Reacts To Release Of Kankara Schoolboys

President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the release of the students kidnapped from a Government Secondary School in Kankara, Katsina State last week Friday.

Recall City News Nigeria earlier reported on Thursday that the Katsina State government had confirmed the release of the schoolboys from their Boko Haram abductors.

Reacting to the development in a statement by his official spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu, President Buhari commended the efforts of all those involved in the rescue of the students.

4. Igbo Elders Condemn Nnamdi Kanu For Creating Security Outfit

The formation of a new security outfit in the South-East by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has been condemned by elders under the aegis of Conference of Igbo Elders for Peace and Development.

The elders in its statement called on Governors in the region and Ohanaeze Ndigbo to stand against the IPOB outfit.

Security operatives have arrested a former Cameroonian lawmaker, Blama Malla for alleged involvement in the activities of the Boko Haram terrorist group.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the House of Representatives has stated that it will drag the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, to court over the invitation of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The PDP Rep caucus said it will challenge the position of Malami that the national assembly lacks powers to invite Buhari to brief it on security matters.

The Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari has denied claims by the Boko Haram terrorist group that it is responsible for the kidnap of students from Government Science Secondary School in Kankara LGA, Katsina State.

The Governor on Wednesday disclosed that local bandits were responsible for the kidnap of the secondary school students.
