#MSG2021: Maltina School Games State Preliminaries Begin In Rivers

CityNews Nigeria reports that the second edition of the Maltina School Games has began in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Maltina the Nigeria’s No. 1 smooth, nourishing malt drink has launched the state preliminaries for it’s competition.

The event which is also held in different regions across Lagos, Bauchi and Abuja. A total of 1400 schools, averaging 350 schools per state including Lagos, Abuja and Bauchi will be participating in the state preliminaries. The best 2 athletes from each preliminary will qualify for the state finals.

The event that has stated since 17th of this and will end 31st of May, 2021. The schedule for the event is as follows; the event will take place in Abonnema Stadium, Akulga on 17th May; Western Ahoada County High School, Ahoada on 19th May; County Grammar School, Etche on 20th May; Enitona High School, Borikiri on 22nd May; BMGS Bori on 24th May; CSS Nonwa on 26th May; Community Secondary School(CSS) Alode on 28th May and Government Girls Secondary School Rumuokwuta on 31st May.

The  Senior Brand Manager, Maltina, Elohor Olumide-Awe noted that the event has began in four different state of the Federation and assured that this second edition will be a memorable for the students.

Accordingto her, “We are glad to announce the commencement of the State preliminaries, not just in Lagos State but in four different states within the Federation”

“It’s been an exciting period of planning for the Maltina Team, and seeing all the planning come to life is beyond amazing. I’m sure the students have been working hard and practicing as well. We trust that this edition will be a memorable one”.

Olumide-Awe applauded the Nigerian School Sports Federation (NSSF) and the Ministry of Education for supports to making the event a reality.

In her words, “We are particularly grateful to the Nigerian School Sports Federation (NSSF) for their cooperation as well as the State Ministry of Education for their immense contribution to the successful planning of this event. To the hardworking  athletes, I say good luck, and may the odds be in your favor”.

Olumide-Awe posits that the event is coordinated by the NSSF in collaboration with the state ministries of education with over 1400 schools taking part in the track and field events.
