1. ASUU To Reopen Universities January 2021 – Ngige
Nigeria’s Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, stated on Monday that academic activities in the country universities will resume January 2021.

The former Anambra State governor made this known while speaking in Alor, Idemili South local government area of Anambra State, during the launch of Ngige free medical outreach at the Community’s Health Center.

According to the Minister, negotiations between the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Federal government had reached 98 percent.

2. SIM Registration: FG Extends Deadline For NIN Update
President Muhammadu Buhari-led government on Monday extended the deadline for the provision of National Identification Number by telecommunication service subscribers.

The development was disclosed in a statement released by the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

3. PDP House Of Representatives Member To Be Punished For Calling For Buhari’s Impeachment

This development was made known by House Leader, Hon. Ado Doguwa who noted that Chinda is acting in a personal capacity as his calls do not represent the views of the House, his constituency, or his party.

4. Senate Passes N13.588 trillion 2021 Budget For Nigeria
The Nigerian Senate (upper chamber of the National Assembly) on Monday passed the sum of N13.588 trillion 2021 Appropriation bill into law.

The figures increased to N13.588 trillion after the National Assembly raised the proposed estimate of N13.082 trillion by N505 billion.

6. Rivers APC Faction Suspends Transport Minister, Rotimi Amaechi
A faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State loyal to Igo Aguma has suspended the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi for anti-party activities.

The APC faction in a statement signed by the media adviser to Aguma, Livingstone Wechie said Amaechi’s suspension from the party by the state executives followed his earlier suspension at the ward level.

7. FG Releases New Measures To Curtail Spread Of COVID-19
Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, approved a new measure to curtail the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

Buhari restricted the number of guests at weddings, conferences, and sporting activities to fifty.

9. FG Imposes Fresh COVID-19 Restrictions On Churches And Mosques
The federal government on Monday amidst fears of impending second wave of the coronavirus disease, imposed fresh restrictions on religious worship centers including churches and mosques.

Delta State has been thrown into mourning with the reported news of the death of the Olu of Warri, Ikenwoli Godfrey Emiko.
