The House of Representatives has apologized to President Muhammadu Buhari for inviting him to address the lawmakers on the security challenges facing the country.

According to The Nation, the leadership of the House has also shelved any immediate or future plans of asking Buhari to come and explain to lawmakers the rising insecurity in the nation.

2. ASUU Strike Is Equal To Support For Boko Haram Ideology – PGF DG, Lukman
The Director-General of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Salihu Lukman has equated the frequent strikes by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to declaring support for the Boko Haram ideology which is against western education.

Lukman made the submission in a statement on Sunday in Abuja titled, “ASUU and Indeterminate Power Struggle – The Boko Haram Logic” where he condemned those supporting frequent ASUU strikes and those pitching them against the government.

Militants have told President Muhammadu Buhari to order the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to release the assets of Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo.

The militants, under the aegis of the 21st Century Youths of the Niger Delta and Agitators with Conscience (21st CYNDAC) on Sunday in a statement by its Coordinator, ‘General’ Izon Ebi’ called for the President’s intervention or risk attacks on the country’s oil installations.

4. Nigerian Lawyers Gave N9.4bn As Bribes To Judges In 2 Years – ICPC
A survey by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences (ICPC) has put the judicial sector of Nigeria as the second most corrupt sector in Nigeria after the private sector.

The anti-graft agency in its report, disclosed that a figure of about N9.4 billion exchanged hands as bribes in the judicial sector between 2018 and 2020.

A former Chief Whip of the Senate, Prof. Sola Adeyeye, has explained why the Senior Pastor of the Citadel Global Community Church in Lagos, Pastor Tunde Bakare, praised Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a recent sermon in his church.

CityNews Nigeria had reported that Bakare had in a viral video praised the impact of the former governor of Lagos state on Nigeria politics.

Reacting in various messages posted on his WhatsApp status between Friday and Saturday, Senator Adeyeye said the pastor was not campaigning for Tinubu to be President.

Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, on Sunday, disclosed how General Olu Bajowa (Rtd), saved him from being killed during a military coup on February 13, 1976.

The elder statesman noted that he was saved by Bajowa from the bullets of Lieutenant Colonel Buka Dimka.

President Muhammadu Buhari and state governors have been asked to disclose the security votes for their states in 2021.

Recall that kidnappers on the 25th of December stormed Albarka Prayer Camp at Fadan Kagoma near Kafanchan in Jema’a Local Government Area of the state, shot indiscriminately before taking away the cleric, wife and one other person simply identified as Mr. Douglas to an unknown destination.

The state government in a statement released through the commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, noted that Apostle Bako and the wife were released from the kidnappers’ den on Sunday.
