2. Ango Abdullahi Says North Ready For Restructuring, Presidential System Useless
The Convener of Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Professor Ango Abdullahi, has described the presidential system of government as useless.

He stated that the North is ready for the restructuring of the country to make it more viable.

Abdullahi, a former vice-chancellor of the Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria, said the North is also ready to debate whether Nigeria should remain as a country or not.

The founder and leader of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet TB Joshua has denied releasing a prophecy stating Senator Orji Uzor Kalu will become the next President of Nigeria in 2023.

The clergyman in a Twitter statement early on Monday morning, 28th December said the messages circulating on social media claiming he has endorsed Kalu as the next President of Nigeria through prophecy is false.

4. Cows Cause Disagreements Among Bandits In Kaduna Forest, Top Leader, Others Killed
A notorious terrorist known as Nasiru Kachalla alongside his colleagues have been killed following a dispute with another gang of bandits over large herds of rustled cows.

The Vanguard reports that security agencies confirmed the killing of Nasiru Kachalla to the Kaduna State Government.

Speaking on Monday, the Commissioner, Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, Samuel Aruwan, said Kachalla has been on the run for masterminding several criminal acts, including kidnappings, killings, cattle rustling and banditry.

5. Beware Of Fake COVID-19 Certificates In Circulation – Lagos Govt Warns
The Lagos State government on Monday revealed that it has discovered some unscrupulous elements are selling fake COVID-19 certificates to international travellers.

The state Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi made this known when he raised the alarm during a press briefing in Lagos.

He, however, added that the government has activated steps to curb the activities of these persons and curb further spread of COVID-19 even during this period when there is an increase in the number of travellers both locally and internationally as a result of the holidays and festivities.

6. We Never Apologised To Buhari For Inviting Him Over Insecurity – Reps
The House of Representatives has denied media reports that it had apologised to President Muhammadu Buhari for inviting him to address the lawmakers on the security challenges facing the country.

A report in The Nation had said that the Green Chambers shelved any immediate or future plans of inviting Buhari to come and explain to lawmakers the rising insecurity in the nation.

It also said it was discovered that some of the lawmakers who sponsored the motion had apologized to the presidency over their insistence that Buhari must appear before them.

But in a reaction to the report on Monday, Spokesman, and Chairman, Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, refuted the report, saying it never apologized to the President or Presidency for doing its constitutional duties.

7. CAN Backs Bishop Kukah’s Christmas Message, Tackles Presidency, MURIC
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) 19 states and Abuja has backed the Christmas message of the Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese, Most Reverend Father Mathew Hassan Kukah.

8. 48% Of COVID-19 Patients In Lagos Are Asymptomatic – Abayomi
48 percent of COVID-19 patients in Lagos State are asymptomatic and do not know they carry the virus, this is according to the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi.

According to Abayomi, 16 percent of the COVID-19 cases currently in the state were severe cases, while one percent are in critical condition.

9. COVID-19: Gov. Wike To Lockdown Rivers Next Year
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has said he will impose a fresh lockdown in the state from January next year to curb the spread of COVID-19.

He stated this during the thanksgiving church service in celebration of the 90th birthday of Mrs. Priscilla Nwanediye Mark, at the St. Martin’s Anglican Church, Omagwa in Ikwerre Local Government on Sunday.

He hinted that with the surging case of coronavirus in the state a second phase of lockdown is imminent.

10. Davido Considers Quitting Music
Award-winning Nigerian singer, Davido, on Monday, on his Twitter account threatened to quit music.

This is coming after the DMW boss and two-time Grammy nominee, Burna Boy reportedly got into a fight at a club, Hype, in Ghana.
