OONI GIVES 4 FUMIGATORS TO NASARAWA, PLATEAU STATES AS GOVERNOR LALONG CHARGES NIGERIAN MONARCHS TO EMULATE HIM

Arole Oodua & Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II has been described as a true traditional ruler of the Nigerian masses who has not failed in his responsibility as Co-chairman, National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria(NCTRN).

This remark was made on Monday in Jos, Plateau state by Governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Simeon Lalong represented by Secretary to the State Government, Professor Danladi Atu while receiving members of the Ooni Covid-19 Intervention Team(OCIT) who were in state to donate 2 motorized modular fumigators on behalf of the African foremost king. He maintained that Governor Lalong has been proactive in managing the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The Ooni is a true Nigerian leader to the core. We have watched him since he was enthroned 5 years ago. He has indeed so far demonstrated exemplary benevolent leadership always supporting the government and people of this great country.”

“Here in Plateau state, the government have been very proactive managing the Covid-19 pandemic situation as the governor had quickly put a machinery in place.”

“He also set up border control sub committee and we have our testing centers
where we are now testing over 700 people daily as against the earlier 50 people per day.”

“Please tell our father, the Ooni that our governor, the government and the good people of Plateau state find theses fumigators very apt and useful to us at this point and we are going to make use of them judiciously. If we have several leaders like the Ooni, Nigeria will be great”. The SSG said.”

Equally, the Nasarawa State Government has earlier on Friday received two Motorised Modular Fumigators from the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi II presented on his behalf by HRM, Asoya of Ile-Isoya, Osun state, Oba Muraina Adedini.

The donation was made at the Banquette Hall of the Government House in Lafia during an event which drew some high calibre personalities, including Deputy Governor, State Commissioner of Police, Bola E. Longe, top government functionaries and traditional rulers led by Emir of Lafia Rtd. Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad.

In his introductory speech earlier at the Deputy Governor’s office, the Ooni’s Director of Media & Public Affairs, Comrade Moses Olafare explained that the monarch has donated the items to support Nasarawa state government in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in fulfillment of his free donations of 2 of his modular motorized fumigators to each of the 36 states of Nigeria and Abuja FCT.

Receiving the equipment from the monarch on behalf of Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, the state Deputy Governor, Dr Emmanuel Akabe who doubles as the Chairman, COVID-19 Task Force in the State lauded Ooni Ogunwusi for his kind contribution to stem the tide of the virus in the state, saying the state government would use the fumigators effectively to contain the pandemic.

Speaking at the two events, the Chairman of the Ooni Covid-19 Intervention Team(OCIT) who is also Head of the Community Health Department of the OAUTH, Ile-Ife, Professor Olapeju Esimai said the motorized modular fumigator was initiated and locally fabricated by the Ooni of Ife as part of his contributions to the response to COVID19 pandemic.

According to the Professor of Public Health, the equipment is unique because of its foggy fumigation mechanism unlike the common liquid fumigators.

“The motorized modular fumigator is an Invention of the House of Oduduwa Machine Tools & part of the contribution of his Imperial Majesty to the response to COVID19 pandemic.

” It is a locally fabricated fumigator that is unique because it uses the foggy fumigation mechanism unlike the liquid fumigation which is commonly carried out. Liquid disinfectant is converted to fog and forms droplets and this enables the disinfectant destroy viruses in droplets

“The fumigator is motorised hence minimal contact with the disinfectant & it covers a wide range of about 20-30fts radius. It fumigate faster as its dispensing pressure is high and its moved by trucks.” Prof Esimai said.
