President Trump says covid-19 vaccine will be ready by end of 2020
Donald Trump has claimed a Covid-19 vaccine will be ready by the end of the year.
Answering questions at a virtual town hall Sunday night, the president said: ‘We think we’ll have a vaccine by the end of this year and we’re pushing very hard.
‘We’re building supply lines … we have many companies who are, I think close, we are very confident we’re going to have a vaccine by the end of the year…we’re pushing very hard for it. Many companies are, I think, close.’
Trump made his prediction after saying he’d been having regular meetings with the bosses of pharmaceutical companies, and said he did not care whether foreign researchers found a successful preventative before the United States, as long as Americans could use it too.
