Reps Member Explains Why Buhari Must Be Impeached
The lawmaker representing Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Kingsley Chinda, has revealed why he is calling for the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Chinda, a factional caucus leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the House of Reps, said his call for Buhari’s impeachment was not out of hatred or anything personal.
The lawmaker from Rivers State revealed that he wants the president impeached for the best interest of Nigerians.
He stated this while speaking at the grand finale of the sensitisation and verification of wards and local government area offices of the Grassroots Development Initiative, a pro-PDP group held in Obio/Akpor, Rivers State.
Hon. Chinda stated that President Buhari has shown that he lacks the capacity to tackle the insecurity currently plaguing the country.
He said: “We do not hate Mr. President. He has done nothing personal to us but we are saying that Mr. President is not fit for purpose.
“If we look at our country and we do nothing and keep quiet because we are afraid or because we want to please people. By the time this country collapses, we will have no other country to go to.”
Meanwhile, the presidency has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari will today, Thursday, December 31, 2020, sign into law the 2021 Budget.
This was made known by the Senior Special Assistant to Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
The approved budget figure by the National Assembly comprises total capital supplementation of N1.06tn, total capital expenditure of N4.1tn, statutory transfers of N496bn, and recurrent expenditure of N5.6tn.
The passed budget Bill by the National Assembly also provided the sum of N3.3tn for debt servicing.
The budget estimate was increased by the sum of N505bn from the estimate of N13, 082, 420, 568,233 presented to the National Assembly by Buhari on October 8, 2020.
