Taraji P. Henson reveals she’s ‘paused’ her wedding to Kelvin Hayden after losing her uncle to COVID-19 ‘complications’

Taraji P. Henson has ‘paused’ her wedding plans to fiancé Kelvin Hayden after losing her uncle to COVID-19 ‘complications’.

The Empire star, 49, has said there’s too much to consider during the global coronavirus crisis and the couple want to ‘pause, stop, and just think this thing through’.

Taraji also added that they have elderly relatives, she has her mother, 70, and grandmother, 96, while Kelvin’s grandma is 86.

Talking to Access Hollywood, she said: ‘I’m pausing because there’s so much to take into consideration now. We’ve all been changed after this.’

She added: ‘I just lost an uncle who we think may have had complications of corona. It’s a lot to think about, and I just think we should pause, stop, and just think this thing through. Humanity will be forever changed after this!’

Taraji also revealed that she has lost 5lbs since self-isolating during the global pandemic and can now sit in an infrared sauna for an hour.

Taraji and Kelvin, who have been together since 2015, originally planned to marry last summer, before rescheduling to April, but things have been pushed once again.

Amid all of the chaos of planning, there is one thing the star is looking forward to, her wedding dress.
She said: ‘I want my Vera Wang! That’s the only exciting part to me, to be quite honest.’

Taraji, who is mother to son Marcell, 25, announced her engagement back on May 13, 2018.
When Taraji and Kelvin wed she will become step-mother to his son Kelvin III, 10 and a 11-year-old daughter Kyra from prior relationships.
