Ighoho: Gani Adams Mobilises Benin Republic Monarchs

Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland  Gani Adams  has mobilised 10 Benin Republic monarchs to facilitate the release of Sunday  Igboho..

CityNews Nigeria gathered that his Personal Assistant, Kehinde Aderemi, disclosed this just as Igboho’s cleric, Idris Oladejo, said he(Igboho) had decided not to disappear from detention because of his wife and Yoruba Nation.

Aderemi said in a statement that an emergency meeting of the 10 traditional rulers would  be presided over by Oba Signon Adekilumo, the Alajowun of Ajowun land.

The other monarchs listed are Oba Alajase Onikoyi, Alajase of Ajase-Ile Porto-Novo; Oba Shitu Adeleke, Onitowe of Towe land;  Oba Adio Ogunju, Ologunba of Ogunba; Oba Awelede Salomon, Oniohorije of Ohori land  and Oba Akerekoro, the Onimasse of Mase land.

The statement reads: “It is the duty of the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, and that of other traditional rulers to support Igboho at this trying time. The case against Igboho should not be taken with levity.

“I am not comfortable with the way the Federal Government is handling Igboho’s case and I have made my position known to the world. I have also rallied over 10 prominent Yoruba monarchs in the Republic of Benin to discuss the possibility of getting Igboho off the hook and ensure that he regains his freedom unconditionally.

“I think we must stand by him because we are all in the struggle for the liberation of our race and whatever happens to Igboho happens to us.”.

Meanwhile, Oladejo has said that Igboho’s power to disappear is from Allah.

“Sunday Igboho believes in Allah and he hates cheating, especially cheating the Yoruba Nation. He has the power (to disappear and it is from Allah,” the cleric told TheCable in Cotonou.

“He can’t disappear here because he doesn’t want any problem for his wife, Oodua Nation, Yoruba Nation. He hates problems..”

When Nigerian security agents raided Igboho’s house earlier in July, the activist was said to have employed supernatural powers to avoid arrest.
