Gumi Asks FG To Hire “Negotiators” To Broker Peace With Bandits
Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Ahmed Gumi has said Nigeria can end banditry within one month if the right people are given the needed support to negotiate with the bandits.
Gumi stated this when a Christian Cleric, Pastor Yohana Buru paid him a Sallah visit at his residence on Friday, pointing out that banditry should never be used as an instrument of politics.
Gumi advised that government should deploy other measures that will offer the bandits better means of livelihood.
The Islamic cleric said with the level of banditry in the country, there is an urgent need for negotiators to broker peace between the government and the bandits.
