A former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has mocked the news of an erstwhile Kaduna Senator, Shehu Sani joining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

CityNews Nigeria recalls that in July, Sani formally “stepped aside” from the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), a party he joined prior to the 2019 general elections in Nigeria.

His decision to step down was made known in a letter addressed to the PRP Ward Chairman, Ward 6, Tudun Wada, Kaduna State.

In the letter dated July 9 and signed by him, the ex-lawmaker said the notice takes effect on the date indicated.

He, however, did not state the reason for his decision to leave nor the party he would eventually join.

“I wish to formally notify you of my decision to step aside from the Peoples Redemption Party. This notice takes effect from today.

“I hope we shall continue to relate in the spirit of our struggle, our shared history and our common ideological principles. Accept the best wishes of my highest regards,” the letter read.

News of Sani, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) member joining the PDP on Thursday coincided with another top politician, Femi Fani-Kayode dumping the PDP for APC. For Sowore, both parties are the wrong choice for Nigerians.

“On the left side, there’s nothing right. On the right side, there’s nothing left,” Sowore wrote on his verified Facebook page on Thursday.

Sowore is friends with Sani, and both men met last week in Abuja.
