We Are Not Going On Strike – Labour
Leaders of the organised labour who staged a walkout few minutes into a meeting with representatives of the Federal Government on Sunday November 22, have disclosed that they are not yet considering a strike action.
Recall that the meeting was convened to resolve the issue of fuel price increase and electricity tariff.
Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero who addressed newsmen on Monday November 23, said the walk out was an expression of anger given government’s insincerity to the issues under contention.
Ajaero further disclosed that they cannot declare a strike on their own without engaging members and following due process. He also stressed that contrary to citizen’s reactions, the labour movement has not lost focus.
