Kano State government has directed all civil servants to resume work with immediate effect.

The directive was contained in a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Information Muhammad Garba who said Governor Abdullahi Ganduje gave the directive during the weekly State Executive Council Meeting.

Workers in Kano had been told to stay at home since January 18, 2021, following an upsurge in cases of covid-19.

Garba said the need for workers to resume followed successes recorded in the fight against COVID-19 in the state in the last three months.

The commissioner also said permanent secretaries and heads of extra ministerial departments and agencies are, by the directive, requested to ensure strict compliance with the government’s COVID-19 protocols and regulations in their work places.
