Updated: Tight security deployment around National Assembly

There was an unusual security scrutiny of vehicles and pedestrians causing serious traffic congestion at the entrance of the National Assembly on Thursday.

Police officers and Sergeant- at- arms were seen thoroughly checking vehicles trying to gain entrance into the complex – an unusual development
According to sources the management of NIgeria’s Federal Legislature received reports of security threats which caused the security beef up.

There have been consistent reports of security threats in and around the federal capital territory and other major cities in the country.
