The seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton didn’t hesitate to reveal that he is a lifelong Ferrari fan. The Mercedes driver has been struggling so far this season, but his Ferrari counterparts Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have managed to shine.

Leclerc is currently second-placed in the drivers’ standings, just nine points behind leader Max Verstappen, who won the F1 title last year.

“Leclerc is very strong, you can always see that,” Hamilton told Corriere della Sera.

“Mercedes is my family, I will always be a Mercedes driver, just like Stirling Moss was.”

[It is] definitely going to be crazy to think that I never drove for Ferrari,” he told Sky Sports last season.

“For everyone that’s a dream position to be in. It was just never really fully on the cards for me.
