Transfer: Chelsea legend, Frank Leboeuf slams Cristiano Ronaldo over latest behaviour
Former Chelsea player Frank Leboeuf has told Cristiano Ronaldo that the way he left Old Trafford during their friendly game against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday was not only wrong but disrespectful.
Irked by Red Devils’ failure to qualify for the Champions League next, Ronaldo handed in a transfer request to the club last month.
The Portugal international left Old Trafford, abandoning his teammates on the pitch at half-time of Manchester United’s 1-1 draw in a preseason game on Sunday,
Leboeuf believes the former Real Madrid and Juventus man was wrong to demand a move away from Old Trafford.
Chelsea legend, Leboeuf said, “It is [wrong] for me. It’s not professional with all due respect and the fact I appreciate the player and what he achieved in his career but it’s not professional and disrespectful towards the club.”
He added that Ronaldo should have stayed until the match was over and should stop disrespecting the club, his fellow players and fans.
“You have to stay, you have to show respect to the other players,” and the fans you still belong to the club, you signed for it, you have to play for them, didn’t make any mistakes, they want to keep you so the only thing you have to say is at least sit on the bench and wait until the end of the game.”
