The local currency opened at N701.00 per $1 at the parallel market otherwise known as the black market, today, Wednesday, September 7, 2022, in Lagos Nigeria after it closed at N702.00 per $1 on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. This represents a change in N1 from the previous day.

Even though the dollar to naira opened in the parallel market at ₦701 per $1 todayNewsone reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognise the parallel market, otherwise known as the black market. The apex bank has therefore directed anyone who requires forex to approach their bank, insisting that the I&E window is the only known exchange.

Newsone Nigeria reports that in the black market, the players buy a dollar for N698 and sell for N701 on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, after they bought N699 and sold for N702 on Monday, September 5, 2022. This means the exchange rate changed its position from the previous day.

Meanwhile, Newsone Nigeria reports that the USD started this week at ₦702 in Parallel Market also known as Black Market on Monday, September 5, 2022, in Lagos Nigeria, after it opened at  ₦697 last week Monday, August 29, 2022.
