Atiku,Saraki,Okowa,Others Storm Osogbo As Ademola Adeleke Is Sworn In As Osun State Governor Today
Osogbo, the Osun State capital will be agog today as it plays host to politicians and supporters of Senator Ademola Adeleke who is set to be inaugurated as the sixth civilian Governor of the state.
CityNews understands the inauguration would be conducted by the Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Adepele Ojo at the Osogbo Township Stadium in the state capital.
Adeleke would be sworn in along with his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi.
Chieftains and stalwarts of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are expected to turn out massively for the event as the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar, his running mate Ifeanyi Okowa, the national chairman of the party Iyorchia Ayu and many others are expected to be in attendance.
It is understood that the Osogbo township stadium is already wearing a new look for the swearing-in ceremony while Ede, the hometown of Adeleke is in a mood of celebration.
A combined team of security operatives has also been deployed to the stadium and its adjoining environment to provide adequate security.
It will be recalled that Adeleke defeated the incumbent, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and others at the July 16, 2022, Osun governorship election.
He is the second of his siblings to become governor of the state with late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke being the first and indeed the first civilian governor of the state.
