British-Nigerian TV dentist, Uchenna Okoye dies at 53 after “sudden illness” in UK
British-Nigerian celebrity TV dentist, Uchenna Okoye has died at the age of 53 after a “sudden illness”, her representatives have said.
The Cosmetic Dentist made numerous appearances on the ITV show, offering advice to viewers at home. She was also a regular guest on 10 Years Younger in 10 Days, Daybreak, and BBC Breakfast.
A heartbreaking statement posted on Dr. Uchenna’s Instagram said she had fallen ill at home on Friday, September 15, and died shortly after. No cause of death has been provided by her family.
Her representatives told Sky News the mother-of-one was taken ill at home.
They added: “At this time, we ask for your prayers for her young daughter, her family, her team of staff at London Smiling Dental Group and her friends who are all struggling to come to terms with her loss.”
Dr. Okoye was a medical expert on ITV’s This Morning and contributed to a string of other programmes, newspapers, and magazines.
She was perhaps best known for appearing on 10 Years Younger, which started on Channel 4, and its spin-off show 10 Years Younger In 10 Days on Channel 5.
She also ran two London dental practices and had her own range of dental products.
Dr. Okoye was born in Nigeria but relocated to the United Kingdom with her family when she was six years old. She was married to a Nigerian doctor, Dr. Chidi Ngwaba, who specializes in lifestyle medicine
