BREAKING: Lawmaker in Wike’s ward resigns as House Leader, declares support for Gov Fubara
The legislator representing the ward of Barrister Nyesom Wike in Obio/Akpor Local Government, Hon. Achor Prince Nna, has resigned from his position as Leader of the House Legislative Council.
The lawmaker made the announcement via a letter addressed to the clerk of the House and simultaneously declared his support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Part of the letter seen by Politics Nigeria read: ”This resignation is hitherto born out of my personal conviction to align with the truth in the face of the current political issues in Rivers state coupled with unwarranted intimidation, marginalization, coercion, bullying and arm-twisting from the leaders of the Obio/Akpor Local Government.”
By this move, Governor Fubara, who has been involved in a political crisis with his predecessor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, seems to have gained support from a prominent figure in Wike’s own ward.
