The emiolu ruling house of Iresa Adu kingdom in Oyo State is urgently calling on Governor Seyi Makinde to address the issue of kingship in their town. Following the passing of the last king of Iresa Adu in Surulere, Oyo State, there has been a vacuum in leadership that has yet to be filled.
Pa Julius Olaonipekun, the head of the Emiolu ruling house, has expressed concern over the lack of a king on the throne, stating that it is vital for the stability and development of the town to have a traditional ruler in place. According to the structure of the town, Emiolu should be given the title of king, but this has not happened as of yet.
This absence of leadership is not only a concern for the people of Iresa Adu but also for the overall governance and administration of the kingdom. The elder has urged Governor Seyi Makinde to take urgent steps to address this issue and ensure that the kingship in Iresa Adu is filled without further delay.
The Emiolu ruling house is hopeful that Governor Seyi Makinde will prioritize the appointment of a new king in Iresa Adu and bring stability and prosperity back to the town.
If we can recall, Oba Jimoh Oyeyemi Oloyede, who served as king for 18 years, passed away six years ago, and the throne has been vacant till date.
