Award-winning comedian Ayo Makun has melted hearts with his birthday tribute to his colleague, Basketmouth.
Basketmouth, who turns 46 today, September 14th, 2024, had taken to his Instagram page to share a photo of himself as he stated that life begins at 46.
“Say hello to the Birthday Boy. Life begins @ 46”.
In his comment section, Ayo Makun dropped a birthday message for him, describing him as the Eze Gburugburu 1. He hoped that he has a fantastic birthday filled with joy and laughter and went on to pray for him.
“Happy birthday my bro.
I wish you a fantastic birthday filled with joy and laughter! May your heard work and dedication continue to pay off. May this year brings you new adventures, exciting opportunities, and all the success you deserve. Enjoy your special day to the fullest. Eze Gburugburu 1 for a reason”.
Basketmouth appreciated him for the message writing, “Thank you so much bro. I appreciate you”.
Recall that for years, Ayo Makun and Basketmouth weren’t on good terms over an alleged debt.
AY, in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, claimed that their beef originated over N30,000 debt, which Basketmouth refused to pay him, and as such the comedian struck his name from some events.
Basketmouth, however, shut down his claims, as he stated that he and AY have never been friends.
In another interview with Teju Babyface, AY spoke on his failed attempt to reconcile with Basketmouth and Julius Agwu.
The box office King revealed that he was done making efforts towards making peace with them, and declared that if he goes to his grave without reconciling with them, he would be happy as he knows he tried his best.
In October, Basketmouth surprised many as he tendered a deep apology to AY. In a video on his Instagram page, he apologized to AY for everything he had done or said that had affected him as he called for them to live in peace and harmony. He also apologized to anyone in the industry who had been offended over time knowingly or unknowingly by his actions.
Basketmouth also apologized to those who had accused him of doing things that had affected their career. He added that his apology was because he had a show coming up and he wanted his tickets to sell.
