Management of a popular lounge in Bodija, Ibadan based night club, Platinum, has debunked claimed that the killing of a Nigerian Civil and Security Defence Corps (NSCDC) officer, Olapade Segun, by a soldier identified as Abubakar, happened at the club.
Platinum Management said the incident happened more than 150 metres from the Platinum Lounge and that it was mischievous for the security agency to link the Lounge with it.
The statement on Tuesday, reads; “Our attention has been drawn to a misleading news that a soldier called Abubakar and an NSCDC official had a heated altercation at the Platinum Lounge in the Bodija area of Ibadan.
“We are particularly miffed that security agency could mislead the public in that manner.
“While we sympathise with family of the deceased NSCDC officer and we hope that justice will be done on the sad incident, we state that no officer of the NSCDC was stabbed to death in Platinum Lounge.
“At Platinum Lounge, we take the issue of security very seriously, such that we do not allow anyone to enter the lounge with any dangerous weapon.”
