FIRS Officially Launches Recruitment Portal, List Positions

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has officially opened its recruitment portal for the positions of Tax Officers (Officer I and Officer II) across various locations in Nigeria, News360 Nigeria reports.

The application process commenced at 12:00 am on November 2, 2024.



The memo reads;

Attention all interested candidates:



Following our earlier notification regarding recruitment opportunities at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), we are pleased to inform you that the application portal will officially open by 12:00am – 2nd November, 2024.

Further details about the application process for the roles of Tax Officers (Officer II and Officer I) at various locations across Nigeria are provided below.




Available Positions: Tax Officers as Officer II and Officer I at the following locations:
• Abia
• Anambra
• Ebonyi
• Enugu
• Imo
• Ekiti
• Lagos
• Oyo

Eligibility Criteria:



• Age Limit: Candidates must be 27 years old or below by 31st December 2024.
• NYSC Completion: Applicants must have completed their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) no later than 31st December 2021.

Required Qualifications:



Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree (or HND) in First Class/Second Class Upper Division in any of the following disciplines:
• Accounting
• Actuarial Science
• Business Information Systems
• Computer Engineering
• Computer Programming
• Computer Science
• Digital/Electronic Marketing
• Economics
• Engineering
• Financial Management
• Graphic Arts
• Graphic Design
• Law
• Management/Business Administration
• Market Research
• Mathematics
• Statistics
• Taxation
• Visual Arts


Note: Relevant master’s degrees and professional affiliations (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, COREN, NSE, etc.) will be an added advantage.







How to Apply:

Interested candidates should submit their applications via the official FIRS recruitment portal: https://www.firs.gov.ng/careers



Please ensure that all applications are submitted electronically, accompanied by clear copies of academic certificates and other relevant credentials.

Important Notes:



1. Candidates must apply to only one of the specified locations.
2. Women, minorities, and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
3. Be cautious of fraudulent recruitment activities; only use the official FIRS website for applications.
4. Regardless of the positions advertised, successful candidates must be prepared to work in any of FIRS’s business locations.
5. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further assessments, which may include aptitude tests, interviews, and medical examinations.
