Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa assumed office as the Governor of Ondo State in January 2023, following the unfortunate passing of the sitting Governor, Oluwa Rotimi Akeredolu SAN. It could be said that Governor Aiyedatiwa arrived at a time of necessity for the state.

In his 20 months of governance, he has demonstrated unwavering dedication to the people of Ondo State. During this period, he has implemented several key infrastructure initiatives in various sectors, particularly in health care.

Health Initiatives:

  1. Orange Health Insurance Scheme (ORANGHIS): This scheme targets informal sectors such as artisans, market women, farmers, commercial transport operators, and workers in the private sector.
  2. Upgrades to Health Care Infrastructure: This includes the renovation of existing facilities and the construction of new ones, as well as the recruitment of health workers for primary health care in all 203 wards and secondary health facilities across the 18 local government areas.
  3. New University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH): Upon completion, UNIMEDTH will feature 250 beds, nine wards, three ultra-modern theatre suites with 24-hour backup power supply, 130 toilets, laboratories, a pharmacy, X-ray and CT scan facilities, seminar rooms, 21 offices, private wards, and call rooms for doctors.

The people of Ondo State are committed to ensuring that this monumental project is not abandoned.

To complete and effectively utilize these health facilities, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa deserves your cooperation and support.
