Motorists and Residents of Ilorin, Kwara State have expressed their displeasure as potholes takeover major roads in the capital city.
It was gathered during a field tour on Friday observed that some inner roads in Ilorin need urgent rehabilitation.
The roads include Gaa-Akanbi-Agbabiaka road, Awolowo road, Mineret-Tanke-akata road, Fate-Tanke road, Basin-Sango road, Judges Quarters-Taoheed road, Tipper Garage- F Division road, Iloffa road (GRA), Sango-Akerebiata road and Gaa-Odota road links Lubcon.
A Motorist, Kayode Alhassan while speaking with Our Correspondent along Judges Quarters-Taoheed road called on Kwara State Government to fix the road before raining season.
According to Alhassan, the situation is becoming worrisome. People living in this area now visit mechanic workshop frequently to change sockets absorbers and other faults.
Similarly, Abdulrahman Kareem who is a tricycle operator urged Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to also rehabilitate other roads in Ilorin like GRA.
“I will appeal to Governor Abdulrazaq to rehabilitate our roads with quality materials. We can see their efforts in GRA and Unity roads. Patching the road every year is waste of resources”. He added
