In a remarkable display of community spirit, Otunba Leke Adekoya, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and an aspiring chairman for Somolu Local Government, has launched the “Breakfast with Somolu Residents” initiative. This thoughtful program, which Adekoya has meticulously planned for some time, aims to bring residents together over a warm breakfast.
At the inaugural event, Adekoya distributed 100 loaves of bread to each ward, accompanied by a delightful package featuring Beans (Ewa Agoyin) to complete the meal. The response from the community was overwhelming, with the bread being eagerly consumed within just 30 minutes of distribution.
Adekoya, who previously served as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the governor on Surveyor matters, expressed his dedication to this initiative, promising to continue organizing it monthly regardless of his political ambitions. He emphasized the importance of such gestures, referring to them as “stomach palliatives” that not only nourish but also unite the community.
Looking ahead, Adekoya has ambitious plans to expand the initiative, aiming to increase the number of loaves distributed to between 150 and 300 per ward in future events. His commitment to the community is evident, as he stated, “It’s worth it,” highlighting the significance of fostering connections among residents.
With this initiative, Adekoya is not just providing a meal; he is cultivating a sense of belonging and togetherness in Somolu, setting a powerful example for others to follow.
