Breaking: President Tinubu Gave His Blessing Before I Resigned – Adelabu

The immediate past Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has said he duly consulted President Bola Tinubu before tendering his resignation, contrary to reports suggesting otherwise.

Adelabu made the clarification in a statement issued on Saturday and made available to DAILY POST.

According to reports, he resigned from his ministerial position to pursue his governorship ambition in Oyo State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

There had been claims that Adelabu failed to carry out the necessary consultations before stepping down from office.

However, in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Femi Awogboro, Adelabu dismissed the reports, insisting that his resignation had the approval of President Tinubu.

“Adelabu actually obtained the full approval and blessing of President Tinubu before taking the decision to resign. Those spreading false speculations should desist, as such claims are baseless,” the statement read.

It added that critics were attempting to discredit him, noting that they were unsettled by the large crowd that welcomed him back to Ibadan last Thursday.
