Former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has arrived in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, for the National Summit of Opposition Political Party Leaders.

The former presidential candidate who shared the information in a post on his account on Saturday expressed excitement, adding that he is ready for meaningful engagements with other leaders.

CityNews reports that the summit is hosted by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.

“Excited to arrive in Ibadan, Oyo State, for the National Summit of Opposition Political Party Leaders, hosted by Governor Seyi Makinde.

“Ready for meaningful engagements with fellow national leaders,” he wrote.

Other opposition leaders who have arrived for the summit include former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Nasir Yusuf Gawuna.

It would be recalled that the National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, had raised the alarm over an alleged plot by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to disrupt a summit scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Saturday.

In a statement on Saturday morning, the opposition coalition spokesperson claimed that after being denied access to venues in Abuja, efforts were now being made to frustrate their gathering in Ibadan.

He said the development reflects a pattern of interference aimed at weakening opposition activities.

Abdullahi further accused the ruling party of hypocrisy, noting that while it publicly claims not to be threatened, its actions suggest otherwise.

Despite the alleged plot, the ADC Spokesman maintained that it would go ahead with the summit.
