An unidentified Fulani man has issued strong threats over the killing of the Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Benue state, Alhaji Ardo Risku Mohammed.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the man, whose identity has not been confirmed, warned that residents of Benue would “regret” the killing of the MACBAN leader and his associate, Yakubu Isa.
The video surfaced days after the killing of Ardo Risku, who was reportedly attacked and killed while returning from a peace meeting in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State.
According to reports, the meeting was convened by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the area as part of efforts to address recurring security concerns involving farming communities and Fulani herders.
The killing has continued to generate reactions within Fulani communities and among concerned residents across the state.
In the viral video, the unidentified speaker described the late MACBAN chairman as a highly respected figure whose influence went beyond ordinary leadership within the Fulani community.
Expressing anger over the incident, he issued a direct warning to the people of Benue.
“Benue people will regret this. Killing this man (Ardo) is like killing our own President. It would have been better to kill the President and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, than to kill this man,” he said.
The speaker further claimed that the late Ardo Risku played a major role in preventing violent clashes and promoting peace between herders and local communities in Benue.
According to him, the slain MACBAN chairman was instrumental in resolving several disputes and ensuring calm in troubled areas.
“This man was a peace lover. He stopped many crises in Benue. Killing him is the greatest mistake Benue people have made. You people of Benue will regret this,” he added.
The authenticity of the video has not been independently verified as of the time of filing this report.
Security agencies have also not issued an official statement regarding the threat or the circulating video.
However, the video has sparked widespread concern online, with many Nigerians calling for urgent action from law enforcement authorities.
Several social media users have urged security agencies to identify the speaker and investigate the threats to prevent further escalation of tensions in the state.
